A tour bus with 31 people on board was westbound on Baylor Street Thursday morning when the driver attempted to make it under the train trestle underpass. The top of the bus struck the steel bridge support girder causing significant damage to the bus and injuring a number of passengers. None of the injuries were life-threatening. “Most are walking wounded,” Ennis Fire Marshal Chad Wester said at the scene. At press time authorities indicated eight to 10 of the passengers were transported to the hospital for treatment. The accident may have damaged the train trestle and officials with the railroad were on-scene examining the structural integrity of the bridge and tracks late Thursday morning. The tour bus was in town for the Bluebonnet Trails.
