Police have apprehended the suspect in a Tuesday shooting in Ennis after tracking him to Gun Barrel City.
Ennis Police Chief John Erisman confirmed that police in Gun Barrel City arrested Dennis Ray Holt, Jr., of Italy, at about 7 p.m. today. Erisman said Holt would be arraigned in Gun Barrel City on Thursday morning and Ennis police would retrieve the suspect after he appeared in court.
Holt was on the run for approximately 30 hours after allegedly shooting a resident in the 500 block of Lakeshore Drive in Ennis, then driving away in a car that was later found abandoned in Boyce.
Erisman said Ennis detectives worked swiftly to track down Holt.
“I want to commend the investigators, particularly Det. Jason York, who put in a lot of overtime working on this,” Erisman said.
