Ellis County Sheriff ’s SWAT officers, with the assistance of the Ennis Police Department took an armed resident into custody after firing a less than lethal round while he sat with a shotgun in a tree. According to a press release from the Ellis County Sheriff ’s Department, deputies responded to the 4400 block of FM 85 in Ennis after a caller reported that her husband was having a mental breakdown and needed to go to the hospital for an evaluation.
